This set of textbook is written according to the “Syllabus for the junior secondary subject Business Fundamentals” as issued by the Hong Kong Curriculum Development Council. There are 7 chapters in the book; they are basically arranged with reference to the recent development of business subjects in secondary schools. However, teachers have the flexibility on rearranging the teaching order in accordance to students’ knowledge and interest.

The main features of the book are:

Learning Objectives
Learning objectives and learning focus are briefly stated in the beginning of each chapter for teachers and students to follow the chief direction of learning.
Question format is mainly used to link up every point of the learning focus, by which the connection between them is displayed.
Discussion Zone
Photographs, graphics and the related concepts are demonstrated. Under the guidance of teachers, students can exchange ideas with each other.
Think Ahead
For the content to be or already discussed, brainstorming and reflective questions are prepared. Students have the chances to solve problems and hence test on their understanding.
Discovery World
At the end of the chapter, the questions in the section of “activity zone” give students chances to search information or conduct interviews after class to find out the answers.
The content of every chapter is arranged according to the order of the learning focuses to facilitate revision.
Revision Exercise
Fill in the blanks exercise is provided to allow students to remember the content more easily by constructing a mind map on the ideas of a chapter. Short questions with different levels of difficulty are also provided to test on students’ master of knowledge, comprehension and ability to apply.
Activity Zone
Though the suggested activities, students can apply what they have learnt from the chapters. Students can further develop positive value and attitudes they have learnt in the activities with the cooperation among each other.
Performance Assessment
Students can assess their performance after finishing the activities and thus help to improve their progress in learning.
Students can promptly find out the page where the vocabulary locates and read the detailed information description.
